The Tiger Lillies bring us violent and canny songs about death, guilt and punishment. They conjure up the spirit of Tom Waits, transported to a 1930s cabaret. It remains a mystery whether it's heaven or hell whose graciousness is revealed by the lyrics of the band's singer and songwriter, Martyn Jacques. Either way, his falsetto's throwback to a long-forgotten atmosphere of vaudeville, urged on by the tunes of his accordion, send goose bumps across the audience's skin. In this endeavor, Jacques is joined by his devilish mate Adrian Stout on the bass and Adrian Huge on the remains of his drum set.
Inspired by the London cult band The Tiger Lillies, several premier artists from the international variety scene unfold archaic dreams of life, love and the impossible.
